Generosity
A generous heart is a treasure to the world. Many people have a generous heart, but do not know how to express it.
We sometimes think that giving to others is about sacrifice. Beware of the kind of sacrifice where you give up what you do not want to lose, depriving yourself of what matters to you; the result is likely to be resentment and that resentment will undermine your gift. Generosity should not leave us feeling bad. Making a sacrifice must be done with eyes wide open and feeling love rather than sadness.
The best gifts come from an inner desire to give to someone else and leaves both the giver and the receiver feeling good. Generosity brings the giver and the receiver closer together, if only for a moment. When we are truly generous, we give because we want to and we give with gratitude that we have something to give.
